{How is Raksha Bandhan Celebrated?}- Early morning sisters take bath and worship God for their brothers Longitivity and happiness. Then they tie Rakhi on brothers Wrist with tilak and rice on their Forehead and doing aarti of brother followed by Gifts which brothers give in return and exchanging sweets like Gullab jambun , Rasgulla, Barfi ,etc. It is a holy festival for every Indian in which everyone enjoys doing fun activities.

Earlier Siblings who are living away from families send their wishes through e-mail   , telephone or used to send Rakhi Cards. But thanks to new technology which now made easier the way of expressing love through Facebook, tweeter and whatsapp.

Now –a-days there is full of app world all around so now there can also be a Raksha Bandhan App in android phones to make it more easier.


Raksha Bandhan History

Rakshabandhan is   a ancient festival with full of Historic Legends Surrounded all around. For Example Indra Dev and King Bali and Goddess Laxmi, Krishna and Draupadi , Yama and Yamuna. For example one of the legends like Yama (the God of Death) did not visit her sister’s place for years. His sister Yamuna (the Goddess of Yamuna River) was very sad for his brother (Yama) not coming to see her.Then Yamuna went to Ganga (the Goddess of Ganga River) for her advice. Then Ganga (Goddess of ganga river) went to Yama . Yama (God of Death) visited her sister Yamuna‘s place. She was so happy and delighted to see his brother Yama and made lot of Delicious food and sweets for his brother. Yama was so moved by his sisters love that from that day Raksha Bandhan is the basis of it and also celebrated as Bhai- Duj  which is celebrated during Diwali.

Raksha Bandhan itself is a unique Festival as full year sisters wait for this auspicious festival so that they get lots of gifts from their brothers. Full of Enjoyment and full of fun and masti. This festival comes during the month of August in Poornima that is full moon day during the month of Shravaan. Raksha Bandhan is also celebrated as Bhai Duj during the end of Diwali also. It is a festival for all the Hindus, Jains  and Sikhs. This festival is probably celebrated in nearly full parts of India, Nepal, and Mauritius and also by the Sikhs and Hindus in Pakistan.
